Privacy
How the Works members' app looks after your information. Updated 7 October 2026.
Who we are
Works runs coworking spaces at Saltworks (SALT District, Christchurch) and Millworks (Addington, Christchurch). This app, at app.works.nz, is for Works members and the Works team. Questions about your information go to hello@works.nz.
What we keep
- Your name, email address and phone number, and the company you're with.
- Your company's membership: its plan, space, dates and prices, and billing contacts.
- Meeting room bookings, including the guests you invite.
- What you post in Messages, support requests you raise, and survey answers (unless the survey is anonymous).
- Sign-in records, so we can keep accounts secure.
If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive only your name and email address from them, to match you to your invitation. We never see your Google or Microsoft password.
Why
To run your membership: rooms, access, billing, house information, events, and keeping in touch with you. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The Works team, to look after members.
- Other members see your name and company (for Messages and room bookings), not your email address or phone number.
- The services that run the app for us: Supabase (the database, in Sydney), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email). When billing moves here, Stripe (card and direct debit payments; we never store card numbers) and Xero (accounting).
Cookies
The app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
While you're a member, and afterwards only as long as we need it: invoices and payment records are kept for seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the information we hold about you and to correct it. Email hello@works.nz. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
